Pentax Fisheye Zoom Lenses

Pentax was the first company to provide fisheye zoom lenses for SLR cameras. Originally they produced the smc Pentax-F 17-28mm F3.5-4.5 lens for 35mm film cameras, then they followed up with the smc Pentax-DA 10-17mm F3.5-3.5 designed for digital SLRs with an APS-C sized sensor.

The diagonal field of view is 180 degrees at the shortest focal length for both lenses when used on the respective cameras they were designed for.

When used on a digital SLR with an APS-C sized sensor the F17-28mm does not reach 180 degrees due to the sensor being smaller than a 35mm frame. But how much less is the field of view?

The answer is provided in this gallery!
